Voluntary Qualified Importer Program (VQIP)

VQIP (Voluntary Qualified Importer Program) is a voluntary program by the FDA designed to facilitate the importation of safe food products into the United States. It offers faster entry processing, reduced examinations at ports of entry, and minimized clearance costs. To qualify, importers must comply with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), ensure their foreign suppliers are FDA-certified, and have no history of serious food safety violations.

Participating in VQIP helps businesses enhance credibility, reduce operational costs, and improve access to the U.S. market—providing a strong competitive advantage.
